Moduify AI Connector

Updated 3 min read

Moduify AI Connector brings the Moduify add-on workflow into the WordPress admin area, aimed at site owners and builders who want custom Elementor widgets or WPBakery add-ons without writing the underlying code themselves. It lets an administrator browse published examples straight away, then connect an account to describe and generate new components on demand.

Generation is handled by the Moduify service rather than by WordPress itself. After activation, the administrator creates a revocable connector key in the Moduify dashboard and pastes it into the Connection page in WordPress to link the site to a Moduify account.

From there, a prompt describing the desired component is submitted through Moduify > Generate, the job’s progress is tracked inside WordPress, and a static design preview appears once it completes, while the finished item is stored in the connected account’s Moduify library for later review and download.

Key Features of Moduify AI Connector

Browse public examples without connecting. The Library page loads a collection of Elementor and WPBakery examples that Moduify has published, viewable before any account is linked. This lets a site owner get a feel for what the service can produce before deciding to connect.

Revocable connector key. The site links to a Moduify account through a connector key created and revoked from the Moduify dashboard, rather than a password. This key is stored in WordPress and used only for authenticated requests to Moduify.

Prompt-based add-on generation. From Moduify > Generate, an administrator names a component, picks Elementor or WPBakery, and describes the layout, content, styling, and interactions needed. Moduify then builds the widget or add-on from that description.

Job progress and recovery. The plugin checks on generation jobs as they run and resumes tracking automatically if the admin page is refreshed or a status check briefly fails. This avoids losing track of a job that is still processing on the Moduify side.

Static design preview. Once a job finishes, a responsive preview of the generated add-on is displayed in WordPress so the result can be assessed at a glance. The preview is rendered in an isolated admin area rather than run live on the site.

Validation status indicators. Each generated item is marked as passed or as needing attention, showing whether automated checks found issues that should be reviewed. This gives a quick signal of which items are ready to review further before installation.

Shared account library. Every item generated through the connector is saved automatically to the same private library used by the Moduify web application. Administrators can browse both their own account items and the published examples from within WordPress.

Built-in Tutorials page. A Tutorials page within the plugin offers guidance on using the connector, embedded through a privacy-enhanced YouTube domain. It gives site owners a reference point without leaving the WordPress admin area.

How to Install Moduify AI Connector

Step 1: Install and activate. In the WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin, search for Moduify AI Connector, click Install Now, then Activate.

Step 2: Browse public examples. Open Moduify > Library to view Moduify-published Elementor and WPBakery examples right away, with no account connection needed.

Step 3: Create a connector key. Sign in to Moduify, open the WordPress Connector section of the dashboard, name the site, and create a connector key, copying it while the page stays open.

Step 4: Connect the account. In WordPress, open Moduify > Connection, paste the key, and select Save and test connection. Confirm the page shows a connected status along with the Site ID and account name.

Step 5: Generate an add-on. Open Moduify > Generate, choose Elementor or WPBakery, name the component, and describe the design and behavior needed, then select Generate and keep the page open while the job starts.

Step 6: Review and download. Check the Library page for validation status, then open the Moduify Library from the plugin to sign in, review or edit the item, and download it for manual installation on a site with the matching builder active.

Good to Know About Moduify AI Connector

According to the plugin’s documentation, only users with the manage_options capability can connect an account, submit generation jobs, browse the library, or save previews. The developer notes that the Moduify password is never requested or stored in WordPress; only the connector key is saved, sent through the server-side WordPress HTTP API.

Neither Elementor nor WPBakery needs to be installed on the connector site to generate add-ons, but the matching builder must be active on whichever site the downloaded add-on is later installed on. The plugin does not add frontend shortcodes, blocks, or scripts, and it never retrieves or executes generated PHP or preview JavaScript.
