DuoPort Connector for OpenCode

Updated 3 min read

DuoPort Connector for OpenCode is built for WordPress site owners and developers who want to use OpenCode’s text-generation models inside WordPress without adopting a separate AI dashboard.

It registers two providers, OpenCode Go for the subscription catalog and OpenCode Zen for the pay-as-you-go catalog, so both can be configured and used through the same familiar WordPress screens. The plugin targets teams that prefer a narrow, auditable connection over a broad, opaque one.

The plugin works through the native WordPress AI Client provider system rather than building its own router. Site owners supply their own Opencode key, entered separately for the Go and Zen fields on the Connectors settings screen, since in most cases one key works for both catalogs.

Once connected, model choices appear in the WordPress AI Client’s normal provider and model selection flow, and only models that have been reviewed and recorded in DuoPort’s registry are offered by default, keeping unverified or unsupported routes out of view unless specifically requested.

Key Features of DuoPort Connector for OpenCode

Separate Go and Zen providers. DuoPort adds OpenCode Go and OpenCode Zen as distinct providers that are automatically discovered on the Connectors screen. Each catalog keeps its own identity and its own key field, so the two can be managed and tested independently.

Reviewed model registry. Rather than exposing every model an API might return, DuoPort shows chat and completions models that have been checked against the live OpenCode catalog and confirmed routable. Unknown models, unsupported endpoint types, and unverified capabilities stay hidden by default.

Labeled free Zen models. Zen catalog records that match OpenCode’s published pricing as free are marked with a Free label in the model picker, once they are part of the reviewed registry. Free availability is set by OpenCode and can change, and a free-looking name still needs an API key and may carry limits.

Credential-free Model Radar. An optional Model Radar watches the public Go and Zen model catalogs for changes without needing stored credentials. It flags new, retired, unsupported, or unverified entries as a single aggregate issue rather than adding them automatically.

Availability check with caching. The plugin validates a connected key using a bounded probe and a temporary cache instead of repeatedly querying the full model catalog. This lets the dashboard report whether a catalog is configured or unavailable without extra API calls on every page load.

Show all models toggle. An optional setting on the DuoPort Connector settings page reveals the complete live catalog for inspection purposes, including entries outside the reviewed registry. It is meant for checking what is available, not for enabling unsupported models for routine use.

How to Install DuoPort Connector for OpenCode

Step 1: Install the plugin. From the WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin, search for DuoPort Connector for OpenCode, then click Install Now.

Step 2: Activate DuoPort. Once installation finishes, click Activate to turn the plugin on for your site.

Step 3: Add your OpenCode key. Go to Settings > Connectors and enter your Opencode key in both the Go and Zen fields; in most cases the same key works for both catalogs.

Step 4: Review optional settings. Visit Settings > DuoPort Connector to check connection status for each catalog or enable the Show all models toggle if you want to inspect the full live model list.

Step 5: Select a model. Use the WordPress AI Client’s standard provider and model selection flow to pick an OpenCode Go or Zen model for your generation tasks.

Good to Know About DuoPort Connector for OpenCode

According to the plugin’s FAQ, DuoPort requires a current WordPress installation and a compatible PHP version, and it skips registering its providers with an admin notice on older setups. The developer also notes that an API key comes directly from an OpenCode account, since the plugin does not supply access itself.

On the connection status display, a previously successful check can continue to show as connected for a limited time even if a later response is unrecognized, and this stored status clears only once a clear invalid-key response is received or the key is re-entered on the Connectors screen. The developer states that DuoPort is an independent project with no affiliation to OpenCode or its parent company.
