RAG Sitemap Chatbot builds a plain-text hierarchy of topics, categories, and source pages from existing WordPress content, then lets a chatbot follow that structure to find the right source for each answer.
It suits site owners who want visitors to ask questions about their posts, pages, or WooCommerce products without setting up embeddings or a vector database, since the map itself serves as the retrieval path.
The chatbot connects to an AI provider of the site owner’s choosing, including Google AI Studio, Mistral, OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, Cerebras, xAI, Vercel, OpenRouter, or a private vLLM endpoint, using credentials supplied by the site owner.
Conversations happen through a floating chat widget on the front end, while the generated sitemap can be reviewed as a text file under the uploads directory and optionally published as a Markdown guide at the llms.txt address. The provider itself may charge for the AI usage involved in generating responses.

Key Features of RAG Sitemap Chatbot
One-click sitemap generation. Organizes selected Posts, Pages, WooCommerce products, and custom post types into a hierarchy of categories and source pages with a single action. Regenerating an enabled sitemap keeps the structure current as content changes.
No vectors or embeddings required. Uses existing titles and categories as the path the chatbot follows to locate an answer, instead of building a vector index. This removes the need for a separate database or embedding step.
Optional llms.txt publication. Enabling this option publishes a Markdown guide at the site’s llms.txt address, following the same category and source structure as the internal sitemap. Posts are placed beneath their direct categories with labeled links back to the original pages.
Editable text map. The generated sitemap is a plain text file stored under the uploads directory, so site owners can open it to see exactly what the chatbot navigates and adjust it if needed.
Bring your own AI provider. Connects with a site owner’s own API key to providers such as Google AI Studio, Mistral, OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, Cerebras, xAI, Vercel, OpenRouter, or a private vLLM endpoint. There is no message fee or quota added by the plugin itself, though the chosen provider’s own terms and charges apply.
Chat interface with design options. Includes a full chatbot interface with preset designs, quick replies, a live thinking display, and responsive previews. A theme can be exported as a design file, described to an AI chat tool, and reimported to apply a new look.

Good to Know About RAG Sitemap Chatbot
According to the plugin’s FAQ, no separate add-on is required to use its free features, and the plugin does not supply provider credits of its own; authentication errors usually mean invalid credentials, while rate-limit errors reflect the provider’s own quota or billing limits. By default, only published, public, non-password-protected pages and posts are selected for the sitemap, and content should be regenerated after edits.
The documentation also clarifies that the sitemap is not a flat list or keyword index but follows selected content through categories to source pages. If the chat widget does not appear, the developer suggests testing the Playground, enabling the floating button, clearing caches, and confirming that security or caching tools allow the plugin’s REST requests.
