Content Console is a content planning and drafting tool for WordPress site owners who want their SEO strategy grounded in actual search data rather than guesswork. It pulls performance data from Google Search Console and surfaces pages and queries worth creating or improving content for, then helps turn those findings into briefs and drafts without leaving the WordPress admin.
AI generation runs through the WordPress AI Client, which routes requests to whichever AI provider the site administrator sets up under Settings > Connectors. There are no provider-specific API key fields inside Content Console itself. Generated briefs, drafts, and content refreshes appear inside the plugin for review and can be saved as Gutenberg-compatible WordPress drafts once edited.
Because the plugin builds on a site’s own Search Console history, the opportunities it identifies reflect queries and pages that are already generating impressions, which can make content planning more targeted than starting from a blank page.

Key Features of Content Console
Search Console opportunity discovery. Content Console analyzes synced query and page data to flag refresh opportunities for pages ranking in positions 8 through 20, create opportunities for queries with impressions but weak rankings, and improve opportunities where performance could be stronger. Each one comes with impressions, clicks, CTR, average position, and an opportunity score.
AI-assisted content briefs. Any opportunity can be turned into a structured brief covering search intent, recommended action, working title, content angle, outline, related topics, call-to-action ideas, and internal linking suggestions. The brief gives a starting point before moving into a full draft.
AI-assisted WordPress drafts. Content Console can generate a draft from an opportunity or brief, using the site’s search data and brand context. The result is presented for review, where the title and content can be edited before saving it as a Gutenberg draft.
Content refresh for existing posts. When an existing article targets a valuable search query, Content Console can generate an AI-assisted refresh aimed at improving structure, clarity, completeness, freshness, and relevance to the opportunity. The site owner chooses which changes to keep before updating the post.
Brand Profile context. A built-in Brand Profile stores business name, industry, target audience, tone of voice, differentiators, competitors, and content goals. This context feeds into brief, draft, and refresh generation for more relevant output.
Gutenberg-compatible output. Generated content is converted into Gutenberg-compatible blocks and saved as a WordPress draft, so it can be reviewed and edited in the standard WordPress editor rather than a separate interface.
Human review before publishing. Content Console never publishes automatically. Briefs, drafts, and refreshes are all presented for review and editing before anything becomes or updates a WordPress post.
No built-in telemetry. The plugin does not send telemetry or analytics data to its own servers, and Google OAuth tokens used for Search Console access are stored encrypted in the WordPress database.
How to Install Content Console
Step 1: Install and activate. In the WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin, search for Content Console, click Install Now, then Activate.
Step 2: Open the settings page. Go to Content Console > Settings to begin configuration.
Step 3: Configure an AI provider. Set up a supported AI provider under Settings > Connectors if you want to use AI generation features.
Step 4: Connect Google Search Console. Authorize a Google account and connect a Search Console property, then sync the site’s search performance data.
Step 5: Review opportunities. Open Content Console > Opportunities to see the content opportunities identified from the synced data.
Step 6: Generate and review content. Select an opportunity to generate a brief or draft, edit the result as needed, and save it as a WordPress draft or use it to update an existing post.
Good to Know About Content Console
According to the plugin’s documentation, Content Console can be activated without connecting Google Search Console, but the opportunity workflow needs a connected property and synced data to function. The plugin does not include its own API key fields for AI providers; instead, AI generation is routed through the WordPress AI Client using providers configured under Settings > Connectors.
The developer notes that business profile information, Search Console data, and AI generation history are stored in the site’s WordPress database, with Google OAuth tokens encrypted before storage, and that the plugin does not send telemetry or analytics data to its own servers.
