AICitare

Updated 2 min read

AICitare checks how well AI-driven search tools such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini can read, understand, and cite the content on a WordPress site.

It suits site owners and content teams who want to know whether their pages are structured in a way that AI answer engines can actually parse, and who want a prioritized way to close whatever gaps exist rather than guessing.

The plugin builds its own GEO Score for the whole site and for each page by analyzing structured data, content structure, crawlability, authority signals, and freshness directly on the site.

For AI visibility tracking and its rephrasing tool, it can connect to external providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Perplexity, or xAI, using an API key entered in settings, or to a locally run Ollama server that keeps data on the site. Results, scores, and checklists appear inside the WordPress admin, including a live readiness box in the post editor.

Key Features of AICitare

Site and page GEO Score. AICitare calculates a 0 to 100 score for the whole site and for individual pages, broken into five weighted areas: structured data, content structure, crawlability, authority, and freshness. This gives a quick read on where AI readability is weakest.

Prioritized fixes per page. Each page gets a diagnosis with a ranked list of issues and one-click fixes that update the resolved state and recalculate the score right away. Schema and FAQ content added through a fix is recorded by the plugin.

Schema analysis with complementary mode. The plugin reviews Product, Review, ItemList, and FAQ schema on the site, and its complementary mode avoids duplicating markup already produced by an existing SEO plugin.

AI crawler management and AI files. Site owners can allow or block a set of AI bots, including GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, and Google-Extended, with rules written to robots.txt automatically. AICitare also generates llms.txt, llms-full.txt, and ai.txt files that stay synced with those crawler settings.

AI bot and referral tracking. A bot tracker shows which AI crawlers visited the site, how often, and which pages they reached, over 7, 30, or 90-day windows. Referral tracking shows visitors arriving from tools such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude.

In-editor readiness and rich results check. A metabox in the post editor shows a live GEO score and checklist while writing. A rich results validation tool also checks a live page’s structured data against Google’s rules, with a one-click fix for product offer and rating markup.
