SitePublisher AI is a WordPress plugin for site administrators who want help drafting articles, images and SEO metadata without leaving the dashboard.
It generates content based on a topic, keywords and optional source text, then leaves the final decision to a human: every piece is reviewed before it is saved as a draft or published to the site where the plugin runs.
AI generation relies on OpenAI, using the Responses API for text and the image generation endpoint for visuals. Site owners connect their own OpenAI API key, which is encrypted in the WordPress database, and requests are sent to OpenAI only when an administrator explicitly starts an AI action or when a queued job is processed through WP-Cron.
Generated articles, images and metadata suggestions appear inside the plugin’s own screens in wp-admin, ready for editing before anything goes live.
Because OpenAI handles the actual usage billing and account access, results and availability depend on the connected OpenAI account. The plugin itself carries no license or subscription requirement for its included features.

Key Features of SitePublisher AI
Single article generation. Create an article draft from a topic, target keywords and, optionally, trusted source text to guide the writing. This gives editors a starting point built around the input they supply rather than a generic prompt.
Background queue with retries. Articles are processed through a work queue that runs in the background and automatically retries temporary errors. Administrators can review and manage queued jobs rather than waiting on each request in real time.
Featured image options. Generate a featured image with OpenAI’s image model or pick an existing image from the Media Library instead. Choosing an existing image skips the image generation request entirely.
Website writing profile. Set local preferences such as country, languages, tone, audience, reading level and author so generated articles match the site’s voice. These settings apply across future content requests without needing to be repeated.
Adjustable content structure. Define defaults for article length, headings, FAQ sections and calls to action, then edit them per article as needed. This keeps generated drafts aligned with the site’s usual format.
Custom prompts and testing. Configure global prompts used for generation and try them out with a built-in prompt tester before running them on real content. This helps confirm a prompt behaves as expected ahead of actual use.
SEO metadata preview and suggestions. Preview and edit SEO metadata for posts and pages, with optional AI-generated suggestions to speed up the process. Manual primary and secondary keyword links can also be added to support on-page SEO.
SEO plugin integration. Metadata works together with Yoast SEO, Rank Math and All in One SEO, or with a built-in fallback when none of those are active. This lets the plugin fit into an existing SEO setup rather than replacing it.

Good to Know About SitePublisher AI
According to the plugin’s FAQ, SitePublisher AI publishes only to the WordPress installation where it is active; remote site publishing is handled by a separate plugin not covered here. The developer notes that article generation never happens automatically: queued jobs run in the background and an administrator must choose to save a draft or publish.
Background jobs depend on WP-Cron or a server-side scheduler, so a stalled queue is worth checking against the plugin’s status and logs tabs. The documentation also confirms that selecting an existing Media Library image skips the OpenAI image request entirely, and that no SitePublisher account or license is needed to use the package.
