Clipwave Video & Image Maker connects a WordPress site to Clipwave, an AI media generation service, letting site owners turn a short written brief into an image or a short video without leaving wp-admin.
It suits anyone who needs quick visuals for posts and pages, such as featured images or promotional clips, without opening a separate design tool. Any user with upload permissions can compose a brief, pick a style, mood, and format, and generate media directly from the editor or a dedicated admin page.
The plugin works as a client for the Clipwave API and requires a Clipwave account with credits, plus an API key created in the Clipwave dashboard.
That key is entered once under Settings > Clipwave, after which requests are sent from the server to Clipwave whenever someone presses Generate. Results appear as a preview in wp-admin, and from there they can be imported into the Media Library or applied directly as a post’s featured image.

Key Features of Clipwave Video & Image Maker
Image generation in multiple styles. Produces images in styles such as photorealistic, cinematic, 3D render, flat illustration, watercolor, bold graphic, minimal, and retro print, plus several logo mark options. Images can be generated in common aspect ratios and in up to four variations at once.
Short video generation. Creates short videos in styles including cinematic, handheld UGC, product showcase, animated explainer, timelapse, and aerial, ranging from a few seconds up to fifteen seconds. Videos can include generated audio and are available in several aspect ratios and resolutions.
Dedicated generation page. A page under Media > Clipwave provides a full workspace for writing a brief, choosing generation settings, previewing the result, and importing it, separate from the post editing screen.
In-editor generation box. A Clipwave box appears in the sidebar of posts and pages that support a featured image, so media can be generated without leaving the content being edited.
One-click featured image and media import. Once a result is generated, it can be added to the Media Library as a regular attachment with one click, or set immediately as the featured image of the post being edited. If a video’s file type is not accepted by the site, a download link is offered instead.
Visible cost before generating. The credit cost of an image or video is shown on the Generate button before anything is generated, so site owners know what a request will consume ahead of time.

Good to Know About Clipwave Video & Image Maker
The developer notes that generation requires a Clipwave account with purchased credits and an API key, since there is no free or trial tier through the plugin itself. Only administrators can view or change the stored API key, which is kept in the site’s database, masked after saving, and removed automatically on uninstall.
Any user with upload permissions, such as Authors and Editors by default, can generate media. According to the documentation, only the API key, the composed prompt, generation settings, and job identifiers are sent to Clipwave, with no site, user, or visitor data transmitted, and no analytics or tracking included in the plugin.
