Historification

Updated 2 min read

Historification helps businesses produce short-form content for social feeds without doing the production work themselves. From a one-line editorial brief, it builds a written article, a matching image carousel, and a narrated vertical video, then distributes the results to connected social accounts.

It suits companies that want a steady stream of reels, shorts, and posts drawn from their own expertise, without hiring a video team.

The generation and assembly work happens on the Historification backend rather than on the WordPress server itself, so nothing resource-heavy runs on your hosting. To use it, you connect a Historification account and API key, and the plugin sends the article content you choose to process, along with your topic profile, to that backend for generation.

The finished articles are saved in WordPress as a custom post type, keeping the written content on your own domain, while generated images and video are delivered from the backend.

Key Features of Historification

Article generation from a brief. Provide a single-line editorial brief and the plugin produces a full article using AI, saving the time of drafting content from scratch for every post.

Ten-image carousel. Each article comes with a set of ten images generated in a consistent visual style, ready to use as a carousel post.

Narrated vertical video. The carousel is assembled into a vertical video with voiceover and captions, producing a format suited to reels and shorts without manual editing.

One-click publishing. Finished content can be pushed directly to YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook from within WordPress, cutting out manual uploads to each platform.

Your own connected accounts. Social accounts are linked through OAuth, with the resulting access tokens stored on the backend rather than in WordPress, so publishing uses your own channels.

Scheduled publishing cadence. You can set how often new content goes out, from twice a day to weekly, choose specific times, or pause publishing altogether, giving control over posting frequency.

How to Install Historification

Step 1: Install and activate. In the WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin, search for Historification, then click Install Now followed by Activate.

Step 2: Add your API key. Go to Historification > Settings and paste in the API key from your Historification account.

Step 3: Set your topic profile. Define your niche, voice, brand, and audience so generated content matches your business.

Step 4: Connect social accounts. Link your YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook accounts through OAuth so the plugin can publish to them.

Step 5: Create and publish. Create a Historification Article, generate the content, and publish it to your connected channels.

Good to Know About Historification

Historification requires an account and API key from the Historification service to operate. According to the plugin’s documentation, articles themselves are stored in WordPress as a custom post type, while generated images and video are hosted on the backend’s content delivery network, with an option to download that media into the site’s Media Library.

The developer also notes that content and topic profile details are sent to the Historification backend only when generating content, and that social account tokens are kept on the backend rather than in WordPress.
