FlowAEO

Updated 3 min read

FlowAEO is an Answer Engine Optimization plugin built for WordPress site owners who want their pages to read clearly not just for Google Search but also for AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Bing Copilot.

It scores content readiness, flags missing schema, FAQ, and meta signals, and gives tools to fix those gaps directly from the WordPress admin.

An optional AI Assistant screen can draft schema suggestions, FAQ ideas, and meta content. This feature works with a provider key you supply yourself, choosing from OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, OpenRouter, DeepSeek, or a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint, entered under AI Assistant > Settings.

Generated drafts appear right inside that AI Assistant screen for review before use, while the core scanning, schema, and FAQ tools work locally without needing any AI key at all.

Key Features of FlowAEO

AEO dashboard overview. The Dashboard screen summarizes overall AEO readiness across the site, shows recent activity, and links into the other FlowAEO screens for quick navigation.

Full site and page reports. The Reports screen runs a full site scan or rescans a single page, showing an AEO score along with missing schema, FAQ, or meta signals. Results can be filtered by All, Issues, or Optimized, and any page can be opened or edited straight from the table.

Tracked pages overview. The Pages screen lists posts and pages being tracked by FlowAEO, showing the AEO status of each one and giving a starting point for jumping into optimization.

JSON-LD schema management. The Schema screen lets site owners create and manage structured data types such as Organization, WebPage, FAQ, and HowTo, then assign that schema to specific content so it outputs as JSON-LD on the front end. Single blog posts can also receive automatic BlogPosting and breadcrumb schema when the Auto-generate Schema option is enabled.

FAQ group builder. The FAQ screen builds groups of questions and answers, attaches them to posts or pages, and publishes FAQ markup that search engines and AI answer engines can read.

Gutenberg content blocks. FAQ, How-To, and Key Takeaways blocks can be inserted directly in the block editor, or managed from the Blocks screen, adding structured content straight into a post or page.

AI-assisted drafting with your own key. The AI Assistant screen generates AEO-oriented drafts, including schema suggestions, FAQ ideas, and meta text, once a personal API key is saved under AI Assistant > Settings. Because the key belongs to the site owner, there is no FlowAEO-imposed limit on generations, though the connected provider may charge for its own usage.

How to Install FlowAEO

Step 1: Install the plugin. From the WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin, search for FlowAEO, then click Install Now.

Step 2: Activate FlowAEO. Once installed, click Activate to enable the plugin and add its menu to the WordPress admin sidebar.

Step 3: Run an initial scan. Open FlowAEO > Reports and click Run Full Scan to generate AEO scores and identify missing schema, FAQ, or meta signals across the site.

Step 4: Fix flagged issues. Use the Schema, FAQ, Pages, and Blocks screens to address the issues surfaced in the report, assigning schema and publishing FAQ groups as needed.

Step 5: Connect an AI provider (optional). Open FlowAEO > AI Assistant > Settings, paste an API key from a supported provider such as OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, OpenRouter, or DeepSeek, and save to start generating AI drafts.

Good to Know About FlowAEO

According to the plugin’s FAQ, core tools such as Reports, Schema, FAQ, Pages, and Blocks run locally on the WordPress site and do not require any AI provider account.

Only the AI Assistant needs a personal key from a supported provider, added under AI Assistant > Settings, and usage is then subject to that provider’s own pricing and rate limits rather than any limit from FlowAEO itself. The developer also notes that only one edition of the plugin should be active on a site at a time, since running multiple editions together is not supported.
