Specflux Site Agent

Updated 3 min read

Specflux Site Agent lets a logged-in WordPress user hand a goal to an AI agent and have it work through the steps needed to reach it, calling tools, asking questions when it needs direction, and stopping before any change to the site until a person approves it.

It suits site owners who want help drafting pages, posts, navigation or WooCommerce content, without giving an automated process free rein to publish or edit unsupervised.

The agent works through the WordPress AI Client, connecting to whichever AI provider the site has set up under Settings, commonly OpenAI, though other providers supported by the AI Client can be used too.

Each turn sends the model the run’s conversation history, the instructions and skills for the active tool pack, and the set of tools it is allowed to call; results come back into the same conversation and are shown on the plugin’s own Runs screen, where the person running the task reviews and approves each write. Runs only happen while that person is actively working in their browser session; nothing continues once they leave.

Key Features of Specflux Site Agent

Human approval before every write. Any action that would change the site pauses for a person to approve it on the Runs screen before it takes effect. Read-only actions proceed without stopping, so review time is spent only on changes that matter.

Session-bound execution. A run acts as the user who started it and only runs while they are actively driving it from their browser. Nothing executes in the background, and a paused run simply waits until someone resolves it.

Clarifying questions and plan review. The agent can pause to ask a structured question when it needs direction, or propose a numbered plan before its first write. Once a plan is accepted, the agent is confined to that plan’s tools until a new plan is approved.

Resumable, budgeted runs. Runs resume exactly where they paused rather than restarting, and are bounded by limits on steps, tool calls, tokens, questions and plans. Running out of questions does not fail the run; the agent continues on its stated assumptions instead.

Bundled tool packs. Four ready-made packs cover pages and posts, site navigation and homepage patterns, and WooCommerce catalogue and order operations when WooCommerce is active. Publishing a page or post is always handled as its own separately approved step.

Validated content writes. Every write is checked for allowed blocks, tags and attributes, unresolved placeholder text, correct page structure, and slug or title collisions before anything is saved. If any check fails, the whole write is refused and nothing is persisted, and the agent never writes PHP, JavaScript or CSS.

Stock photo search. Runs can search Openverse for stock images using model-generated search terms and import a chosen result into the Media Library. Only search text and the selected image’s identifier are sent, with no site content or account details involved.

How to Install Specflux Site Agent

Step 1: Install the plugin. In the WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin, search for Specflux Site Agent, then click Install Now followed by Activate.

Step 2: Connect an AI provider. Under Settings > Connectors, connect the AI provider the site will use, such as OpenAI, so the AI Client can send model requests on the agent’s behalf.

Step 3: Review the agent’s settings. Visit Specflux Site Agent > Settings to check options such as whether pages should use the active theme’s block patterns.

Step 4: Start a run. Give the agent a goal from its interface and let it work through the needed steps, answering any clarifying questions it raises along the way.

Step 5: Approve pending writes. Open the Runs screen whenever a run pauses for approval, review the proposed change, and approve or decline it before the run continues.

Good to Know About Specflux Site Agent

According to the plugin’s documentation, it refuses to activate on WordPress multisite installs. The developer notes that it works standalone with its own built-in approval gate, and can optionally detect the separate Belayline Agent Governance plugin for a fuller audit trail and tiered approvals, without requiring it.

Run data, including the goal, conversation, and tool call results, is stored in dedicated database tables and kept after the plugin is deleted unless the site owner opts in to full data removal beforehand. Runs in progress at the time of certain updates may fail safely rather than continue under changed rules, without silent re-tiering.
