Facem Web Import & Export Articles adds a single button to the WordPress post editor that lets site owners turn an office document into a draft post, or turn an existing post into a downloadable file.
It suits anyone who writes content in Word, LibreOffice, Markdown or plain text and wants to move it into WordPress without reformatting, or who needs to hand a post to someone else as a document. Both import and export run natively in PHP, so no external tool like LibreOffice is required on the server.
The plugin can optionally call a third-party AI provider to write descriptive alt text for images pulled from an imported document, using the surrounding heading and text as context and, if enabled, the image itself.
This requires an API key from the chosen provider, entered on the Settings > Import / Export articles page, and the feature stays off until switched on. When active, the generated alt text is applied to the image tag and stored in the Media Library alongside the rest of the imported content.

Key Features of Facem Web Import & Export Articles
One-click document import. Uploading a .docx, .odt, .txt or .md file creates a WordPress draft automatically, using the first heading as the post title and the file name as a fallback. The source file is deleted from the server right after processing, so nothing is kept beyond the resulting draft and its images.
Automatic image handling. The first image found in the document becomes the featured image, while the remaining images are placed in the content at their original position. Every content image is added to the Media Library and named after the subheading that comes before it.
Optional AI-generated alt text. When enabled with an API key for Mistral AI or OpenAI, the plugin asks the chosen provider to write alt text for each imported image based on nearby text and, if the vision option is turned on, the image itself. Without this setting, alt text is simply taken from the preceding subheading, so the feature stays entirely optional.
Multi-format export. The current post can be downloaded as a DOCX, ODT, PDF or TXT file, generated directly in PHP without relying on LibreOffice. Headings, text formatting, lists, quotes, tables and alignment are preserved in the exported file.
Editor and builder compatibility. The Document button appears in Gutenberg and the Classic Editor, is injected into the Elementor panel, and is also reachable from a Document entry in the WordPress admin bar. Content built with Divi or Elementor is converted to plain HTML before export, so the output stays consistent.
Multilingual interface. The plugin’s interface follows the language configured for the WordPress site and ships with translations already prepared for a wide range of European and Asian languages. A translation template is also included for adding further languages.

Good to Know About Facem Web Import & Export Articles
The developer notes that uploaded documents are never stored long-term: files are read from a temporary location and deleted right after conversion, whether it succeeds or fails, with only extracted images kept in the Media Library. AI-based alt text generation is entirely optional and switched off by default, so no data reaches an external provider unless it is deliberately enabled.
The FAQ also confirms compatibility with Gutenberg, the Classic Editor, Divi and Elementor, and notes that the interface is originally written in French but ships with ready-made translations for many other languages, plus a template for adding more.
