One Two Three Send

Updated 3 min read

One Two Three Send is a newsletter plugin built for WordPress site owners who want to draft, check, and send email updates without leaving the admin dashboard.

It covers the full cycle: writing an issue, catching mistakes before it goes out, delivering it to subscribers, and managing signups, all using data stored on your own site rather than a third-party list host.

The drafting and editing tools run on the Claude API from Anthropic, using your recent posts, site tagline, and an optional description you write as source material.

You supply your own Claude API key under Newsletter > Settings > AI, and the generated or edited text appears directly in the newsletter editor for you to review and adjust. The AI tools are optional throughout: the plugin works for writing, auditing, and sending newsletters even without a key.

Key Features of One Two Three Send

AI newsletter generator. Claude drafts a full newsletter issue from your site’s recent posts, tagline, and a description you provide, with a choice of tone (Friendly, Professional, Casual, or Authoritative) and target length. This gives you a starting draft to edit rather than a blank page.

Inline AI editor tools. Select any paragraph to rewrite, shorten, expand, or fix its grammar, or generate alternative subject lines in one click. A tone check and a local spam-word scan help you spot wording that might hurt deliverability before you send.

Pre-send audit. A single click runs ten checks covering subject length, word count, unsubscribe references, link count and format, spam triggers, leftover placeholders, readability, read time, and overall structure. Each check returns a pass, warning, or failure with a plain-language explanation of what to fix.

Flexible scheduling and approval. Newsletters can go out manually or on a daily, weekly, fortnightly, or monthly schedule. A manual-approval mode notifies the admin before anything sends, while automatic sending is something you turn on only if you choose.

Delivery and subscriber management. Emails go out through Resend or standard SMTP, and subscribers are kept in your own WordPress database with filtering, CSV export, and one-click token-based unsubscribing that requires no login.

Signup forms, welcome emails, and lead magnets. Add signup forms through a shortcode, a Gutenberg block, or a PHP function, and trigger an automatic welcome email with placeholders for the subscriber’s name and site details. You can also attach a file as a lead magnet, delivered through a signed download link that refreshes itself if it expires.

How to Install One Two Three Send

Step 1: Install and activate. From the WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin, search for One Two Three Send, click Install Now, then Activate.

Step 2: Connect an email provider. Go to Newsletter > Settings > Email Provider and connect Resend or configure SMTP so the plugin can deliver your newsletters.

Step 3: Add a Claude API key (optional). If you want the AI drafting and editing tools, get an API key from the Anthropic console and paste it into Newsletter > Settings > AI. You can skip this step and write newsletters yourself instead.

Step 4: Create and send a newsletter. Go to Newsletter > New Newsletter, write the content or generate a draft, edit it as needed, run the pre-send audit, then schedule or send it to your subscribers.

Good to Know About One Two Three Send

According to the plugin’s documentation, subscriber data stays in the site’s own WordPress database rather than an external list host, and unsubscribing works through a one-click token link with no login needed. Deleting the plugin keeps subscriber lists, drafts, and settings intact unless the site owner specifically enables data removal on uninstall in Settings > Advanced.

The developer also notes that signup forms rely on a honeypot rather than a nonce for spam protection, which keeps them compatible with caching plugins. A Claude API key is only required if the AI drafting and editing tools are used.
